Elder Clay Giles

  Monday, Sept 11, 2023 Tudo Bem! My first week of being a missionary is done! This week has really changed me for the better. I have never felt more in tune with the spirit and loved by the Lord. Home MTC (Missionary Training Center) has its ups and downs, but overall it has been great! My district is awesome! Normally in a district, there are about 17 missionaries, but my district was combined with another district, so there were 35 of us! It was crazy but a lot of fun. It will be sad when we're split up in the MTC, but most of us Elders are in the same residence hall so we'll still be close.  Next, I met my companion for the MTC and he is awesome! Shout out to Elder Petersen! My comp and I have really bonded and he is super spiritual and great to talk to.  To finish off my email I just wanted to share the scripture that I chose for my missionary plaque that's going to be hanging in the church building.   MTC Monday, Sept 18, 2023  Olá! Tudo bem! This week has been super crazy and difficult. But, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. For the exciting news, I'm in a trio! My new companion's name is Elder Buckmeir. He was supposed to leave last Wednesday, but his mission wasn't ready for him yet. So he had to stay one more week, so he joined our district and it's been awesome! He speaks Portuguese pretty well so he has been holding extra Portuguese learning classes with us. He has been such a blessing!  In other news I have loved every moment that I have been here, the spirit is so strong and I can feel God's love for me every day.
